Alternate Ending~ Plot Twist

Nora couldn't stand her intolerable marriage anymore. After she leaves her home, she moves far away so that she could start fresh. She wants to know how it feels to be independent so she decides to get a job. She opens a cute little bakery that specializes in Maccaroons. Now that she's unperturbed since she's not with her contolling husband anymore, she can finally enjoy life.
That's when things changed...
She started getting letters from an anonomous person complimenting her on her baking skills. The person sent one almost everyday; each one said more than the next. The next one said she was beautiful and her maccaroons brighten their day. Nora thought the letters were so sweet! As she read more and more letters, she noticed that they are getting creepy. When Nora opened the next letter she was shocked. The next lettter said that they like how Nora decorated her new appartment and they have a lovely view of her while she bakes at home. Almost in hysterics, she ripped the letter to shreads and rushed home. While she was running she was realizing that this person who writes her letters, basically stalks her at home! She also thinks she knows who it is... and her first guess is Hemer....
She gets to her front door and notices it's opened. She knows that she locked it before she left for work that morning. As she walks into her living room it's pitch black! Then out of nowhere the lights flicker on and Nora has the biggest suprise of her life! Across the room from her is her 'stalker'. Looking at her with a smirk was the one and only, Dr Rank...
Nora: "But Dr Rank I thought you died?!? Why are you tormenting me??"
Dr Rank: "Silly Nora, you know how much I love you, I poured my heart and soul out to you and you still went back to Torval! What's that about? I never actually died, I'm actually superhuman and plan on living forever. Not the point but anyways I came here to tell you that if I couldn't have you noone can! I killed Helmer and your kids and now I'm here to kill you too!"

At this moment Nora wakes up and realizes it was all a dream! Relieved, she looks to the side of her and sees a plate of expired maccaroons. She thinks she got food poisoning and that's what caused her to have such a bad dream. Sitting there alone thinking about her crazy dream, she realizes that she really does miss Helmer and her children.
At that moment she forgets all the bad that happened to her and goes back to her old home. When she arrives and sees their happy reactions she realizes people can change and that her and Helmer can finally have a happy life with their family like what she wanted all along!

Act 2 Post :)

Hey guys! At first before we read "The Doll's House", I thought it was going to be way different. I actually was expecting it to be some boring book that noone cares about and has no pazzaz. Boy was I wrong! This book was probably such a good influence for women back in the day, going through the same type of problems. Being controlled by your husband and not being able to live your own life. That's got to be a terrible feeling. Nora did the right thing about leaving Helmer. He was just bad news! He's also very selfish too. He was super angry when he read the first letter. He cursed her out, and called her all other bad names.

But as soon as the 2nd letter came that said everything was going to be fine, he forgave Nora and said everything was going to be fine, even better than before. Selfish people only care about themselves and that's not cute! Helmer seems sort of like a pedofile at some parts of the book. Pretty creepy if you ask me! They do say that women do go for guys that are like their fathers, and Nora was tired of that. I think she did the right thing with her decision. Also, Ms. Linde was smart in making the truth come out; even though it made it look like she was throwing Nora under the bus. Lastly, if Dr. Rank was alive, I think him and Nora would of made a good couple! To conclude, it was a very enjoyable book and it changed my point of view on things. Sometimes we all go through tough times, but usually their is good too. I'm looking foward to seeing the movie in class and can't wait to see it!!! Peace out guys, dont forget to comment.~ :)

Act 1 Post, Yeahhh buddy

I think this book is really interesting. The characters interactions together are really funny to read. Even though this book wasn't written recently, the actions some of the characters make are similar to ones that people make today. Back then cheating was unheard of, but for some reason it seems a lot more common today. Nora seems to like the ravishing attention that Dr. Rank is giving her because it is something her husband doesn't give her. She even flirts with him while her husband is next door! She says while her and Helmer are dancing the Tarentella, Dr. Rank can look at her ankles with her nude stockings. If that's not leading a guy on, then i don't know what is!
If i was in Nora's situation, I would tell Helmer the truth about borrowing the money. It seems like that might be risky but it would be the right thing to do. Helmer would be incredulous about how Nora was able to raise that much money in that little time. The main character Nora seems to be selfish and conceited. She has good intentions but sometimes she words things the wrong way. A quote I feel fits this story's plot well is "A woman cannot be herself in modern society." At least back in the day during this time period that made sense. To end my blog, I hope that in the story Nora doesn't make frivolous decisions that could turn out to be bad for her at the end. But then again, we are dealing with a scatterbrain here!

First Post Hurray !

So far my favorite thing about English class is that you talk about modern stuff while you're teaching. Also we are able to relate to you because you are younger and funny! I researched some facts about Henrik Ibsen; who is the author of A Doll's House. He was refferred to as "the father of realism". He utilized the conditions of life and issues of morality to show his surreal elements. It seems like this book will have a real message hidden inside and that it doesn't actually have to do with an actaul doll house.
I think the title of the play does relate to what the play will be about. It probably will have to do with a family and maybe the struggles they have going through life. It might relate to the author because whatever happens in the story might of happened to him in real life. He once said, "A woman cannot be herself in modern society," so he might be sexist. A theme this play might be focussing on is scarificing for the ones you love. The symbol of a doll house could be about children and their lives. To conclude, i hope this book is enjoyable and can't wait to see how it is!
