First Post Hurray !

So far my favorite thing about English class is that you talk about modern stuff while you're teaching. Also we are able to relate to you because you are younger and funny! I researched some facts about Henrik Ibsen; who is the author of A Doll's House. He was refferred to as "the father of realism". He utilized the conditions of life and issues of morality to show his surreal elements. It seems like this book will have a real message hidden inside and that it doesn't actually have to do with an actaul doll house.
I think the title of the play does relate to what the play will be about. It probably will have to do with a family and maybe the struggles they have going through life. It might relate to the author because whatever happens in the story might of happened to him in real life. He once said, "A woman cannot be herself in modern society," so he might be sexist. A theme this play might be focussing on is scarificing for the ones you love. The symbol of a doll house could be about children and their lives. To conclude, i hope this book is enjoyable and can't wait to see how it is!

  1. I like that quote you included. Maybe Ibsen was actually standing up for women.
